Spotsylvania and Cold Harbor as well as Sherman`s famous march from “Atlanta to
the sea”
Although known as the 1860 model Light Cavalry Saber the first surviving examples
date from 1859.This was the preferred model of cavalryman throughout the Civil War
and was by both North & South.
Much easier on the wrist of men drawn from the city than the previous model which
became known as the “wrist breaker”.
